The wind’s picking up, and the sky’s an eerie shade of gray. Hurricane Milton is on its way, and my Dobie can feel it in her bones. She sticks close, shadowing my every move, eyes full of questions but heart full of trust.
There’s something humbling about nature’s power. It reminds you what really matters — family, safety, connection. She doesn’t understand the forecast, but she understands me, and that’s enough to steady both of us.
