It starts as a game — one minute of pure eye contact. At first, she looks confused, then curious, then a little suspicious. You can almost hear her thoughts: “Why are you being weird, hooman?”
Dobermans are incredibly expressive. The tilt of their head, the twitch of their ears — it all tells a story. By thirty seconds in, she’s already trying to lick my face like, “Enough of this!”
By the end, we’re both laughing. It’s silly, but it’s these little moments that remind me just how deeply dogs read us.
